Gear Up for Winter Reading

Stop by the Children's Room of Willard Library or the Helen Warner Branch to sign up for Gear Up For Winter Reading and receive a bingo card. By completing different activities, children may earn bingos and be eligible for up to five prizes. Preschoolers have one bingo card and those between 5 and 18 have their own card.

The program continues through March 31.

The last day to turn in bingo cards for prizes will be Saturday, April 8.

Pop-up Tween Makerspace

Tweens, from 9-14, are invited to check out Willard Library's Pop-Up Tween Makerspace. Each month, students will explore different Makerspace activities such as Makey-Makeys, littleBits, HUE Animation Studio, and DIY crafts. The Makerspace activities allow tweens to explore their creativity and problem-solving skills while experimenting with different technologies and resources.

Spring Break Week: The Pillowcase Project

The American Red Cross will partner with Willard Library to present The Pillowcase Project. Students in second through sixth grades will learn how to be prepared for an emergency. Participants will receive a pillowcase, designed to contain a personal emergency supplies kit, as well as a workbook which will help families prepare for emergencies.

Students will:

  • Learn emergency preparedness skills
  • Learn helpful coping skills for stressful situations
  • Receive a workbook and pillowcase to bring home.

Spring Break Week: Spring Cleaning Craft Day

Help Wanted! Children in eighth grade and younger are invited to help clean out the library's craft closet! In order to make room for summer supplies, crafty kids will be able to create with the library's leftovers. The activity will have a little bit of everything including sand art, kaleidoscopes, and tile pictures while supplies last. Children should bring their creative energy, and the library will provide all the supplies.
