photo2Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a FREE GIFT to our children! All you have to do is read to your child.

It sounds almost too simple to be true, but by reading regularly to your children during their preschool years, you are providing them the biggest boost toward a successful education they will ever get.

Enroll your child and we'll send them a Free Book every month until their 5th birthday!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library will help you read with your child. There are many reasons parents do not read to their child, but we can eliminate one of them. Every child will have books of their very own, at no cost to you, thanks to the generous support of the Battle Creek Area Educators Task Force, Felpausch Foundation, Summit Pointe, Willard Library, W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Dolly Parton.

Each month a new carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home. He/she can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library until he/she turns five years old as long as you remain a resident of the Greater Battle Creek Area. Should the child move outside the Greater Battle Creek Area, he/she automatically exits the program.

How Quickly Will My Child Begin to Receive Books?
Eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been received, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue to arrive every month until your child turns five or until you move out of the Greater Battle Creek Area.

Who Pays for Imagination Library?
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Battle Creek is made possible, at NO COST to your child, by Dolly Parton and local partners including:
Battle Creek Area Educators Task Force • Felpausch Foundation • Summit Pointe • W.K.Kellogg Foundation • Willard Library

How are the Books Selected?
The books are selected by a blue ribbon panel which includes representatives from education, child development, academia and early childhood literacy expertise. New titles are introduced each year so younger siblings will not receive the exact same books as their older siblings. In addition, as the program grows, even more quality books are available to us. The books selected incorporate specific themes and target age-appropriate skill set development. Six to ten of the Imagination Library books are bi-lingual with English and Spanish on the same page. The bi-lingual books are sent to all enrolled, not just the Spanish speaking families. The rest of the books are only in English.
